Our Story

We (Missy and Marley) have been best friends ever since we met in college. In 2023, a decade later, we both found ourselves newly single, heartbroken, and preparing to re-enter a dating world that felt more difficult than ever.

Rather than navigate it alone, we decided to give it our all and document our experiences along the way. So, we created MasterDaters Podcast, where we attempt to “master the art of modern dating.”

Three years later, we still haven’t mastered it. We’re very much a work in progress, but we’re finally ready to share what we’ve learned. Because it’s tough out there, and we all deserve a little hope.

So come laugh through the chaos with us, and maybe learn something along the way that makes modern dating feel a little less scary and a lot less lonely.

MISSY

Missy has always been drawn to stories, both the ones we tell on screen and the ones we live every day. She graduated from SCAD (Savannah) with a B.F.A. in Film & Television and began her career working on television shows and feature films before transitioning into corporate video production for private equity firms.

After years of helping businesses tell their stories, she took a leap and started her own production company in Savannah, Georgia, where she now produces podcasts, documentaries, commercials, and educational content for clients across the country.

Outside of filmmaking, Missy has spent years researching modern dating and relationship dynamics. That passion eventually led her to MasterDaters, where she’s helping create honest conversations around love, connection, and the realities of dating today. She is currently pursuing her dating coach certification and hopes to empower people to date with greater confidence, intention, and authenticity.

MARLEY

Marley sang before she could talk. She always wanted a career in the arts, whether that be performing or behind the scenes. She graduated from SCAD (Savannah) in 2014 with a BFA in Film and Television and a minor in Cinema Studies. She spent the next 10 years, moving her way up through the Production department within the Georgia film/TV industry. While she gained invaluable experience, the film industry’s hours weighed heavy on her want to chase more creative pursuits. She currently works full time as a Travel Coordinator while filming the podcast on the side. With MasterDaters, she spends most of her free time researching, learning, and writing about dating. And now, with the ability to “make” music with Suno, she is hopeful for more performing in her future. She has finally found a path back to where her dreams lie.
